Tap Into Community

Syrup that engages the community

About Oak Lane Maple

Oak Lane Maple is a community enterprise celebrating the beauty and resourcefulness of the East Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia. We tap maple trees around the neighborhoods of Oak Lane and turn the sap from the trees into maple syrup and other treats. We learn about and think about other ways to connect and utilize these and other natural resources in a sustainable way. Our purpose is to connect people to ourselves and each other, and to the resources around us. Our goal is to tap into community.

Oak Lane Maple's founder, Jethro Heiko, is a community organizer, artist, and entrepreneur. There are resources all around us including one another, trees and so much more.
